Meet The Teachers:
Anne Clarkin,
Woods Hole Child Center Director and Older Class Teacher
Anne has a B.A. in Women’s Studies and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. She has served the community for many years as an employee of the Falmouth Public Library, and a teacher in the Falmouth Jewish Congregation’s religious school. Anne has been the younger class teacher since 2009 and has a long association with the school as a parent, Board member, and substitute teacher. Her classroom aquariums and worm bins fascinate the children and are just some of the ways Anne’s love of nature is woven into the daily life of the Child Center.
Allison Haughton,
Younger Class Teacher
Allison is an EEC licensed preschool teacher and has worked in the Child Center’s summer program since 2005, first as a teaching assistant and then as the younger class teacher. Allison’s history with the school started long before she became a teacher here as she is also a Woods Hole Child Center alum.
Allison was hired in 2019 as the new younger class teacher after the retirement of Darryl duRivage. She has a passion for music and brightens the class with her singing. Allison loves animals and nature and enjoys helping children to explore the world around them. She believes in the importance of play and encourages children to follow their natural curiosity in order to grow and learn.
Denise Trimble, Lunch Bunch Teacher
Denise holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she minored in Sociology. She served as Vice President of her children’s cooperative preschool as well as the Mullen-Hall School PTO, and previously worked as a Preschool Teaching Assistant. She enjoyed many years as a stay-at-home mom to her two boys, and is thrilled to bring her love of children and the outdoors to WHCC.
Jessi Foureman,
Lunch Bunch Teacher
Jessi joined the WHCC community in 2014, first as a parent then as a Lunch Bunch Aide, after relocated from Key West, Florida for her husband’s job. When Jessi is not here you’ll find her volunteering at Falmouth Academy and creating goods for her small business, BOHO Vibe Designs.
Tina Larson- Summer School Director/Teacher
Tina has been a teacher since 1979. She has a B.S. and a Masters degree from Wheelock College in Boston, both in Early Childhood Education. Tina began her teaching career in San Antonio, TX, teaching grades 2-5 for five years in the public schools. She went on to the public schools of Oakland, CA, teaching science to grades 1-6 for four years. Tina moved back to MA in 1988, and began working as the WHCC Summer Program Director. Tina truly enjoys sharing her passion for science with the children at the WHCC summer school. During the regular school year Tina teaches full day kindergarten at Saint Margaret School in Buzzards Bay, MA. Her love for science extends to her personal vacations, many to interesting Arctic places!
